Russian govt to spend 25.7 tln rbl on national projects till 2024

MOSCOW, Feb 11 (PRIME) -- The Russian government estimates spending on national projects at 25.7 trillion rubles from 2019 until 2024, according to the main goals and results of national projects published by the government on Monday.

Under President Vladimir Putin’s decree on the national goals and strategic tasks for Russia’s development until 2024, the government created 12 directions. Besides that, the government formed an overall plan for upgrade and expansion of major infrastructure.

Russia’s national 2019–2024 projects will comprise 13.158 trillion rubles coming from the federal budget, 7.515 trillion rubles coming from non-budget sources, 4.9 trillion rubles coming from regional budgets, and 147.8 billion rubles coming from state non-budget funds.

The infrastructure plan encompasses spending of 6.348 trillion rubles, the national project on safe and quality highways assumes spending of 4.779 trillion rubles, while spending on ecology will reach 4.041 trillion rubles, on demography 3.105 trillion rubles, on healthcare 1.725 trillion rubles, on digital economy 1.634 trillion rubles, and on housing and urban environment 1.066 trillion rubles.

The infrastructure plan sees cargo traffic of the Northern Sea Route jumping to 26 million tonnes in 2019 from 18 million tonnes in 2018, and soaring to 51 million tonnes in 2021 and to 80 million tonnes in 2024.

Capacities of Russian seaports should rise by 34 million tonnes in 2019 from the current figure of over 1 billion tonnes, by 56 million tonnes more in 2020, by another 34 million tonnes in 2021, by 45 million tonnes in 2022, by 125 million tonnes in 2023, and by 44 million tonnes in 2024.

Russia’s power consumption should also rise by at least 6% in 2024 as compared with 2018, according to the infrastructure plan.
